MUST READ:INTERESTING FACTS SPERMS,KEEP IT STRONG!!!

Compiled by : Kwabena Kusi Ababio

Here are some interesting facts about Sperm:

Spermatogenesis is the production process of healthy sperm cells called spermatozoa, commonly known as sperm.

Spermatogenesis starts at puberty and usually continues until death.

The maturation process takes a total of 64 days. Transportation and storage in the testicles takes another 2 weeks.
The first “higher overall quality” sperm will therefore be found in your seminal fluid only 10 weeks after you start any measures to improve them.

“Sperm production takes about  three months, so any changes the man makes today won’t show up in the semen for at least three months,”

*. It initially forms in the testicles then moves up to the epididymis. Then fully formed sperm travels through the vas deferens and swings by the seminal vesicles where it mixes with a fluid to form semen. Finally, the prostate adds the last little bit of fluid before ejaculation.

*.If sperm is not ejaculated, it is broken down and reabsorbed by the body

*.The average volume of a sperm sample produced is 3ml ( Most men are surprised by this- A tea spoon is 5ml!)

*.Healthy males produce about 70-150 million sperm a day —  but when they ejaculate, they can lose up to three times that amount

*.With every ejaculation, men produce around 200 million sperm cell

*.There are male and female sperm. Female sperm are slower, but stronger, while the males are faster, but weaker

*.Semen only contains about 10 percent sperm — the rest consists of enzymes, vitamin C, calcium, protein, sodium, zinc, citric acid, and fructose sugar. All of these nutrients are needed to help sperm survive and thrive

*.Inside a woman’s body, sperm can live for up to five days depending on the conditions. Interestingly, cervical mucus protects sperm and helps it stay longer in the body around ovulation, when you’re most fertile.

*.The largest cell in the human body is the female egg, whereas one of the smallest is the sperm cell

*.A human sperm can travel at 4 mm per minute but many are as slow as 1mm per minute.  In perspective though, they are only 55 microns in length (that is 1/20th of a millimetre)

*.Defects to sperm can occur in any of the sex cell’s three parts: the head, midpiece (the neck) or the tail, or a combination of these. For instance, a defective sperm could have double heads, small or oversized head, a bent neck, thin midpiece, a tail that’s bent, broken or coiled, or multiple tails.

TOP TIPS FOR HEALTHY SPERM

If you want healthy sperm here are some Top Tips to get you started:

*.Drugs– Just don’t do them…end of !

*.Smoking– Quit NOW! Go get your last packet and chuck them all away right away. Smoking cigarettes can cause low sperm counts and slow-moving sperm.

*.Weight– Being overweight (having a body mass index or BMI of 25 or higher) may lower the quality and quantity of your sperm. The effect is greater in men who have a  BMI of 30 or higher. (Contact 233269672880 or whatsapp 233244403336 if you want to lose weight )

*.Temperature– The testicles are outside a mans body for a reason. They are happiest at 34.5 degrees C, which is just below normal body temperature.

They need this cooler environment to produce the best-quality sperm.
If the temperature of the  testicles is raised to 98˚, sperm production ceases.
AVOID: Hot Baths / Sauna’s  and steam rooms/ Heated car seats / Laptops on laps/ Sitting for too long/ Wearing                 tight underwear / Mobile Phones in Pockets

*.Stress- Severe  stress may affect some men’s sperm count. It does this by lowering levels of a hormone called gonadotrophin-releasing hormone (GnRH), which is needed for sperm production. Stress can increase abnormal sperm and reduce its concentration
